Guillermo Luis Guitarte was an Argentinean-born philologist and linguist. In 1949, he received his doctorate in secondary education with a specialty in language arts from the University of Buenos Aires and pursued postdoctoral studies in Spanish philology at the University of Madrid for the next three years.
